Message from the Head of Secondary
Welcome to DIA Town Square
A warm welcome to all.
My name is Kosta Lekanides and I have the distinct honour of being the Founding Head of Secondary at Dubai International Academy (DIA) - Town Square. I have worked in the education sector for over 25 years with a good portion of that specifically with the International Baccalaureate covering a variety of roles including teacher, coordinator, senior leader, trainer and author. In line with DIA’s aspirational philosophy, I aim to help build a school where students can dream big, feel inspired to learn and who genuinely want to achieve both academically and personally.
I very much look forward to bringing my collective experiences of working in high-performing international schools to our aspirational international school, whose focus will very much be centred on fostering a culture of life-long curiosity, aspiration and growth coupled with the ever important attributes of care, responsibility and collaboration.
It is very purposeful that our school’s core philosophy is one of ‘Togetherness’ as we believe very strongly that the best of this thing called learning and the true measure of achievement comes from working hand-in-hand with others, be it in solving problems facing society or simply, and more meaningfully, helping someone be a better version of themselves. I look forward to joining you all on this journey to build a school where each child, parent and member of staff feels valued, supported and cared for.
